This is a vintage Russian squirrel fur coat in pristine condition. It is a Novotny Fur which was a longtime fur store in Lakewood Ohio dating back to 1918. The fur was identified as Russian squirrel by a local fur store owner, previously associated with Novotny.

Russian Squirrel is an insanely soft and luxurious fur. Russian squirrel is often described as softer than mink. The pelts in this coat are extremely supple and the fur is even in color and texture with an iridescent glow.

The coat is a rich brown coloring and features side pockets, three hook and loop closures along the front and a button and loop closure at the neck. The loops and button are beautiful in and off themselves appearing to be crocheted. The collar is fur inside and out. The satin lining is a beautiful chocolate brown, clean and free from any imperfections and includes a double ribbon and loop for use to tie the inside panel tight. The lining includes an embroidery of the original owner’s name.

This fur is amazingly beautiful with no imperfections - it looks like it was rarely, if ever worn.

The size is not marked but a best estimate is it is likely suited for sizes in the 10-14 range depending on fit preference.

This is an iconic coat that has, and will, last generations to come! There is no shedding, no balding, no smells or rips/tears to the fur.

Approximate Measurements: Sleeve approx 24" from shoulder to cuff and 15” from underarm to cuff. Mid-underarm to underarm across the back is approx 22". Length from top of collar to hem is approximately 45".
