There was an old woman who lived in a shoe… Adorable vintage, likely early 1900’s antique, bisque shoe and figurines attributed to the nursery rhyme the Old Woman in the Shoe. The collection was made in Japan, although it’s not certain all the children are from the original set. Made of bisque (unglazed porcelain) and hand painted with wire pinned moving arms (and legs for the mother). The set includes the mother and 5 children. Two of the children are missing their arms but it’s not really noticeable when they are in the shoe. Otherwise it’s in very good condition considering its age.
Fun, uniques piece sure to bring a smile and memories of nursery rhymes.
Shoe measures approx 5 1/4” long, and 2 3/4” high and wide. The figurines range from 4 3/4” to 3” tall.
